Last August, Tesla's Model S sedan aced the NHTSA's crash safety tests with a perfect, 5-star score in every category. The results prompted Tesla Motors' PR department to start hyping the car as "the safest car ever tested". It seems like someone in Europe didn't get the message, however, and decided to ram themselves into the back of a Model S. The results?
Tesla: 1, Opel (?): 0
That's right- the little econo-sedan looks mortally wounded from its bounce off the Model S' curvy hind-quarters. Said hind-quarters, it should be noted, look virtually undamaged (as do the passengers of the Model S, apparently). Not a bad performance from the Tesla, and another solid, wrought-iron nail in the coffin of the "it's not a real car" argument.
